Hall Court Dressage provided me with the opportunity to develop multiple skills and learn new practices. My general role was the provide all care needs to the horses, including mucking out, turning out, feeding and medical care. Further responsibilities included preparing horses for the rider, preparing horses for competition, ground work (lunging, long reining and pre-backing preparations), hacking and assistance in backing the young horses (both on the ground and leaning over and first rides away). The yard specialised in using equine learning theory to approach training problems. We specialised in rehabilitating \'problem\' horses, most of which became straight forward to work with once we had established a relationship and opened communications with the horse, following the ideology of natural horsemanship. This was a skill I am able to use and apply on a daily basis to multiple scenarios.
